When does manta bridge show ETH on the destination?
The manta bridge is the official interface for moving ETH from Ethereum Mainnet to Manta Pacific Mainnet. Its current route displays Ethereum as the source and Manta Pacific as the destination; it also warns that Ethereum gas fees apply.
ETH should appear after the deposit has completed and the wallet is connected to Manta Pacific Mainnet—not Ethereum Mainnet. Manta Pacific Mainnet uses chain ID 169 and ETH as its currency symbol. Adding the network does not move funds; it only lets the wallet display the balance already associated with that address on the L2.
What should be checked before treating the transfer as stuck?
- Read the Ethereum transaction status. “Pending” means the deposit has not yet been confirmed on Ethereum. “Failed” means no bridge transfer completed, although gas may have been spent.
- Compare addresses character for character. The connected Ethereum account and the Manta Pacific account must be the intended address. A wallet can expose several accounts under one recovery phrase.
- Switch networks, then refresh the balance. Select Manta Pacific Mainnet, reconnect the wallet if necessary, and check the native ETH balance. Do not look for an ERC-20 token entry: bridged ETH is normally the network’s native gas asset.
- Use the bridge history. A completed source transaction paired with an incomplete destination record is a processing issue; a completed destination record with no visible balance is usually a network or address-view issue.
That order matters because bridges transfer information and assets between otherwise separate blockchain environments; balances do not automatically appear while a wallet remains pointed at the original chain. The official route fits ETH already on Ethereum Mainnet. A third-party route fits a different origin chain, but it is a separate service with its own interface, fees, support process, and security model. An exchange withdrawal only fits when the exchange explicitly offers Manta Pacific as the withdrawal network.
When is it time to stop retrying?
A second deposit should not be sent merely because the first one is not visible. If the Ethereum transaction failed, retry only after correcting the cause. If it confirmed but the destination remains incomplete after checking the address, network, bridge history, and destination explorer, retain the transaction hash and contact the operator of the route actually used. Those details identify the transfer; a screenshot of a wallet balance does not.
